About Bad Detox

Wellness claims, checked

Last updated August 13, 2026

Bad Detox publishes detox claims, supplements, diets & eating for readers who want the working version rather than the promotional one.

The tone we aim for is sceptical but fair, careful to separate "unproven" from "harmful" — we assume you are intelligent, busy, and able to tell when you are being flattered.

What we cover

The site is organised into 6 sections:

  • Detox Claims — Cleanses, teas and the organs that were already doing the job.
  • Supplements — What is in the bottle, what it is licensed to claim, and what trials show.
  • Diets & Eating — Eating patterns, the claims made for them, and the evidence underneath.
  • Gadgets & Devices — Wearables, lamps, patches and machines sold on a mechanism that does not exist.
  • Reading the Evidence — Sample sizes, funding, preprints and how to read a study cited at you.
  • Wellness Marketing — How the claims are written to stay just inside what regulators allow.
